When your business has received a letter claiming infringement of copyright you need to take action fast. These letters come from the image owners directly, or from large stockists of commercial images often asking for large amounts of money they claim are payable by you for the use of images on your own site.
The fact you may have obtained the images from a designer or developer does not mean you can pass the claim or money request to someone else, your business remains liable so action needs to be taken quickly. This service assists you to challenge the amounts claimed and to raise questions to the owners of the images. This is a service open to business owners and directors only, we do not take instructions from employees.
When your own site is involved all you need to do is:
1. Order the service below on line. You will get access to a detailed questionnaire which needs completion by the business owner/director and returned to us at IP1@limeone.co.uk along with all the communications you have received and any communications you have entered into with them.
2. Copy the communications received and email to us at IP1@limeone.co.uk or fax the communication to us at 01244 241120.
3. We acknowledge the receipt of the order within 1 working day.
4. We then generate the response for you within 3 working days of receipt of the completed questionnaire and all documentation and send a copy to you via email on the date of our posting via first class mail. Our response is based on the information you have provided to us and is a request for the copyright owner to mediate with us on your behalf to avoid court proceedings.
5. You must at the same time also remove all contested images from your site, business communications and recall all printed material that may include the contested image. You should speak with your web developers to discuss the image's appearance in internet history.
